He won 12 international and national gold and silver medals as a rower, and teams he coached won more than 24 gold and silver medals in the Olympics and world championships. ==Early life== Rosenberg, who was Jewish, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.〔 He first grew up in Strawberry Mansion, Philadelphia, until his family moved to Bucks County. He graduated from Central High School, in Philadelphia, where he ran the quarter mile and wrestled.〔 He first attended Penn State, where he wrestled, and then attended Temple University and Temple University School of Law, from which he graduated with degrees in pharmacy and law.〔〔〔〔 He was a patent attorney.〔
